Songwriters in the Round
The Songwriters in the Round event is BACK! It runs on the first Tuesday of every month at Ancora Coffee Roasters 2690 Research Park Dr. in Fitchburg. The show starts at 7:00pm and runs until 9:00pm. For the time being, there will be no cover charge! On May 6th we will present Jim Schwall, Amy Curl, and Steve Schad! Join us for the music and fun!

Song Critique
Held on the third Wednesday of every month at Noodles & Co. 3600 University Ave. at 6:30pm. This is a great way for songwriters to network and showcase some of their new material. Songwriters should bring 12 to 15 copies of lyric/chord sheets and either a recording of the song or an instrument to play it on. If you need a guitar there should be one you can borrow. While new or in-progress songs are preferred, writers are welcome to come even if they don't have a song to present. Cost is free for MSG members and $5.00 for non-members.

Open Mic
Held on the first Wednesday of each month at Mocha Moment, 1121 Center Ave in Janesville at 6:30pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for members and non-members alike to share their talents and gain some valuable performance experience. Hosted by Greg Winkler.

Songwriter Showdown
The event takes place at the Brocach Irish Pub, 7 W. Main St at 9pm on the second Wednesday of each month. The event is hosted by Mark Croft. The participants may play up to three songs. The judged song must be an original composition. The winner is chosen based on audience response, song craft, and performance. The winners of the monthly song contests are asked back to compete in the annual year-end showdown, where they compete for the prizes and the honor of being named the Madison Songwriters Group Songwriter of the Year!
